The village of Dolní Dunajovice lies about 40km South of Brno. It is in a valley between the Pálava Hills in the East and Dunajovice hills with vast vineyards in the West. The village history reaches back as far as the 6th century, which is documented by countless archeological finds in and around the region. The village has kept its agricultural character since then. It has very close ties with the winemaking trade thanks to the local climatic and geological conditions which are both ideal for wine growing. This region is an extremely popular holiday destination for all wine lovers.
Dolní Dunajovice offers a variety of amenities and activities for its visitors all year round. You can also find a health centre, a dentist, a pharmacy, a post office and a shopping centre.
We would also like to bring to your attention the fact that Dr. Karl Renner, the first Austrian president , who studied in the nearby town of Mikulov, was born here and in 1990 a plaque was unveiled at the house where he was born.
In case you do not want to drive or cycle you can use public transport, which offers good services to all nearby towns and villages. It only takes about 25 minutes to get to Brno, the second largest city of the Czech Republic. There are lots of newly-built and well- maintained cycle tracks.
Not far from Dolní Dunajovice is the well-known historical town of Mikulov, the UNESCO site of Lednice-Valtice with its beautiful chateaux and surrounding parks.

You can aslo visit the village of Dolní Věstonice, known for its Věstonice Venus. In the hot days of summer you can take a dip in the nearby lakes of Nové Mlýny. The campsite Merkur, Pasohlávky is about 4km from us. This also offers excellent opportunities for fishing enthusiasts and nature-lovers.
